Eye See You

Updated: Apr 16, 2020

It's that time of year again - the yearly eye exam. I always dread this because it means getting new lenses, which are always super expensive. Why do we have to spend tons of money just to see clearly? It doesn't make any sense. Last year I spent over $400 on frames and lenses. That's crazy! This time I was definitely looking for an alternative to avoid spending so much.

One of my coworkers was raving about a new company called Warby Parker. Being that I've had glasses for several years, I couldn't figure out what was so special about it - then I did my own research. Warby Parker is an eyewear company that sells unisex glasses at affordable prices. Most frames ranged from $95 to $120. The best part is, the lenses are included in the price! For $95, you get frames, plus lenses with anti-scratch and anti-reflective coating. I have never had an eyewear company give you the lenses for free! Normally you always have to purchase them separately and all of the coatings are an additional cost.

Another positive about Warby Parker is that they send you frames to try-on. If you go on their website and take the quiz, you get five pairs to try-on at home. Once you find the one you like, send them back. I personally found it more beneficial to try frames on at their store, but I know not everyone has a Warby Parker nearby. Each pair comes with a case and lens cloth, which shares how the company began. It's such an interesting story that I can definitely relate to.

Ever since I received my frames, I have not been disappointed! I love them so much and I will definitely visit them again when I need another pair. If you're looking for an affordable pair of glasses, definitely check them out!
