Wine with Benefits!

After this last season of the Bachelor, my need for wine was definitely at an all-time high! If you saw the show, you definitely understand what I'm talking about. I honestly could not have gotten through these last two months without my weekly Bachelor wine fix. The drama, the suspense, the heartbreak - yikes! - but the Winc company (thankfully) made it so much more manageable.

If you've never heard of Winc before, it's a company that incorporated wine into a subscription service. Basically, instead of receiving fashion and beauty products every month, you're getting 4+ bottles of wine! (Umm... what?!) With over 79 different varieties to choose from, you're receiving the perfect box for your taste. Not sure what type of wine you like? or maybe you just want to try something different? Winc has a flavor quiz to match you with the perfect pairings for your tastebuds and lifestyle. If you don't like the ones it paired you with, you can always change them too. (That's what I did!)

One thing I absolutely love about Winc is that you get a deep insight into the flavors of every wine before you buy it. I'm definitely not a wine expert, so I generally stick to my certain wines that I know I'll love, instead of taking the risk to try new flavors. With Winc, you can learn about the exact flavors it contains, dryness level, and alcohol content. If you have a general idea of what you like, it's easy to find your new favorites!

However, that's not the best part about Winc... You can literally receive 4 bottles of wine for only $39! (plus free shipping) Like, what?! These are top-notch bottles that start at $14.99+ that you can get for MUCH LESS than retail! If you're an avid wine drinker, why wouldn't you want to save some money? To receive this amazing offer, just click my link: https://winc.com/hi/iuamgdkq4d8 You'll receive $22 in winc credits that can be applied to your order, giving you the 4 for $39 deal!

Now that you know a little about the company, let's dig into my box! As mentioned previously, I didn't go with the quiz recommendations, but instead customized my box. I literally spent over an hour picking these 4 wines because it was so hard to decide!

1. 2018 Vinyasa Chardonnay

Tasting notes of crushed rock, cucumber, green apple, and lemon. Alcohol: 12.5%

2. 2018 Summer Water Bubbly Rosé

Tasting notes of candied lemon, strawberry, watermelon, and white peach. Alcohol: 12.5%

3. 2018 Wonderful Wine Co. White Blend

Tasting notes of candied lemon, guava, honeysuckle, and lychee. Alcohol: 13%

4. NV Eplevin Cider

Tasting notes of apple, lemon, and pineapple. Alcohol: 8%

If you can't tell, I'm definitely a white wine person that prefers fruity flavors!

REVIEW

After our latest date night, Devin and I decided to crack open the bottles and give them a taste. Each one was definitely unique in its own way, so it honestly wasn't easy to describe the immediate taste. Neither of us could ever be food critics, that's for sure! Although, we did find our favorite out of the four! (Keep reading to find out!)

1. 2018 Summer Water Bubbly Rosé

Me: "Smells really carbonated; smooth; flavorful"

Devin: "Not bad."

This one you can get in a normal rose versus bubbly, so I would definitely get the normal one next time!

2. NV Eplevin Cider - A cider wine? Sounds interesting!

Me: "Mild fruit smell; doesn't smell sweet; very dry; the taste is hard to explain."

Devin: "It's weird."

3. 2018 Wonderful Wine Co. White Blend - Pretty basic white wine, so why not?

Me: "Chemical-like smell; mildly fruity; not very smooth; has a strong kick; little to no flavor until the aftertaste."

Devin: "That one's strong."

4. 2018 Vinyasa Chardonnay - Personally, I've never been a chardonnay fan, but my flavor quiz gave me entirely chardonnay, so I figured I'd give one a try!

Me: "Flowery smell; nasty, bitter taste; definitely hard to swallow."

Devin: "....... (makes a nasty face)"

Unfortunately, I was right about not liking chardonnay, so that bottle was a bit disappointing. However, I'll know anytime I shop for wine to stay away from that section! Even though we didn't like them all, it was a good way to try new brands/flavors without breaking the bank. After trying them all, our favorite was definitely the 2018 Summer Water Bubbly Rosé! I highly recommend checking out Winc and expanding your wine horizon!
